Utah County did not have the season many thought they would have including me. Now comes the All Tournament, All Valley, All Region and All State teams. I think the county girls should get ready for some disapointments probably only Whitney Holm and Sarah Clark will make 1st Team All State. We will probably have about 3-4 others make 2nd Team but that is about it, lost in the shuffle will be killer years from Katelyn Elliot and Brittany Mccray strong seasons from Ashley Chappel, Ariel Zimmerman and Tina Ferguson. I am sure these girls will be recognized by their Regions and the All Valley teams though.

The Tribune does a great job of picking girls _base_d upon the coaches input and voting. The paper does not pick the teams the coaches do, only MVP and coach of the year is picked by this paper so if athletes are left off it probably because their coach did not vote. With that said the true best p_layer_s will show their stuff in Summer Ball the All- Whatever teams usually go to the best p_layer_s on the best teams. I will be watching these girls go head to head in the Summer and will draw my conclusions from that.

Since you also added the Tooele p_layer_s it looks like you might have missed a couple. Junior Aly Jensen made first team and Freshman Marissa Mendenhall made the 2nd team.

All I have to say is Wow when it comes to the differences between Desnews and the Tribune.

Leaving Brittany Gonzales off 4A 1st team was odd but then she did not make 2nd Team or Honorable Mention. Looks like someone mishandled some paperwork! It was also disappointing to not see the stats on Springvilles girls. I totally agree with the one liners but lets see Clarks pitching stats and McCray hitting stats up on the page so the whole state can see what a lot of us already know.
