It's always great when we can get some recognition here in Utah. Check

I agree what an accomplishment this would be if the Don's can go 27-0 they would most likely move up into the actual top 25. But if they lose 1 game they would most likely disappear from the rankings.

This is great!!! Utah Softball and more importantly Utah County Softball is on the map in a big way. But this puts a very sizeable target on the backs of the Don's with all other teams in the State. I don't see the Don's losing before state but thats where all the picking apart of the team will happen. If this team is a close bunch and they have a common goal they can pull this off. The talent is there, the coaching is there if the sacrifice is there they just might pull of a 27-0 record, but odds are against it. This sort of acheivement you can talk about for 10-20 years. Go Dons!!!

For me, the Softball Dons of '08 are sort of akin to the New England Patriots this past season. The Pat's perfect season was in their grasp and it seemed their destiny. Then they lost one little game (well not that little) and it seemed like an almost perfect season was a complete failure. Almost is one of the sadest words in the English language.

So, I'm happy for the Dons and it is great for Utah Softball and I do hope that they win state. But sometimes the effort to be perfect places another burden on a team when winning state is pressure enough. We'll see if they can do it. I certainly do want them to win State, but somehow I think that losing one game might be critical to that achievement. That said, I'd think losing that game on May 9th might actually help them out a bit. Not that they'll throw in the towel, but that will be a true test for them (albeit a non-Region game) and for Springville.

The Patriots ...... not quite a class organization but I will take it. Their coach was able to manifest a feeling of us against the world each and every week this was great but it wore off about 12 games into the season and they won on talent. The Don's did not have to wear this #1 ranking until 2 weeks ago and if they can carry it for 4 more weeks they will have an acheivement of greatness. But forget the 27-0, 26-1 and a state Championship puts them in as one of the best in Utah of all times.
