I HOPE HE CAN GET THE RIGHT ASSISTANT COACHES TO HELP HIM SUCCEED. I KNOW HE CAN KEEP AND ATTRACT THE TALENT NECESSARY TO RUN A GREAT PROGRAM. GOOD LUCK SCOTTIE GO GET UR BOY JOHN PASTRUP AND OTHERS. I saw Springville play just one game last season vs Pleasant Grove and if you are even thinking about playing Timpview tough go splash some water on your face now. Just pray for realignment to move you out any region Timpview is in. You just don't have the talent to play with a team such as Timpview your receiver caught a touchdown and thought he had won the game even though you were down 4 touchdowns. Your front seven has to be the softest in the 4A ranks with linebackers that seem scared to hit anyone. Mitchell's first two hires better be a strength coach and a recruiting coordinator.

dear north county what did i say? in a few years right. obviously no one in the county will beat timpview next year and i'm sure they will get the recruits if not until the uhsaa does something about it. atleast this will bring some excitement to the program. and ur right it doesn't mean scott will b a good coach but as a qb u r like a coach on the field. U understand how to manage the game. I hope it will atleast keep the athletes here in shs rather going to lil byu. i am happy he is coming back. he will learn how much time it takes to coach and help kids become successful. i can't believe he would leave orlando and his awesome home. but i am glad. i don't think anyone will come close to beating lil byu next year but hopefully some of the other teams can b competitive in the next few.

As an outsider I am just stating the obvious, a ex Quarterback my help you on the offensive side to spread the defense out a little but lets be honest hear. Football is a game that is won in the trenches and Springville is very lacking in the size department and with Mapleton opening soon a lot of your athletes will be split in the younger ranks. I went to a few youth games and did not even see a Springville team participating so younger p_layer_s in the grades 6-8 are not being developed unless they are playing in some city league. The kids in Alpine and other areas are already playing the other cities in the more competive leagues by the age of 10. Lets face it Springvilles Football glory is in the past but relialignment will help you to not face Timpview.

Now i'm assuming that ur either a lp man or a caveman. I do agree that the youth programs in the north uc are 10 fold better than shs or south uc fb. Ur right that they need more size but don't most fb teams in the uc except timpview and af last year. I also went to the pg game at shs and shs was bigger on the line than most of the pg p_layer_s. the pg team wasn't 2 big but they had a lot more heart than most teams i have seen. except at the end when in my opinion lesean being hurt kind of hurt their self esteem. Ur right when games r won and lost in the trenches but why? not because of size it is talent and desire. i'm sure u've heard the saying it doesn't matter the size of the dog in the fight just the size of the fight in the dog. look at my pats they aren't the biggest o line but they r well coached and have a lot of desire. or look at byu there line is a lot bigger than most of there opponents and not all the time could they blow them off the ball. how did they run against ucla? And i love that saying because i have a pit bull and he isn't that big but he does have a lot of fight. Anyhow, I hope Scott can turn things around after hansen did such a fine job at keeping the devils competitive. I am also happy about the relign it will help the devils out.

Springville fans had better be patient because it will take Mitchell 4-6 years to produce a solid 8 win season. Springville is like Provo and Payson in the area of youth football the coaches got to the point they knew talent was coming in so they just sat back, waiting too long. While the rest of the valley and even places like Heber fielded teams and got better and better. In this day and age you cannot build a good football p_layer_ starting in the 10th grade like maybe 5-8 years ago. Now you need to have boys playing by at least 8th grade. The funny thing is some of the youth league coaches are pretty good, a lot of ex college p_layer_s coaching these kids not just Dads that picked up a book. This is the area any High School Coach needs to focus for his program. This is true in most sports take a look at SFHS and its _base_ball talent all developed by youth leagues and refined by the High School coaches. Timpview believe it or not does not recruit but like they say "If you build it they will come".
